season after season, one label im always interested to see is victoria beckham. i think the case of the once posh spice is extremely interesting given the success of her transition from pop star to style icon & now to designer. surprisingly, the beckham label ventures further into the depths of minimalism with a what appears to be influenced by the middle east, 70’s style sensibility & relaxed silhouettes all in one collection. im very impressed by the collection seen this season & admittedly had my share of fears that the beckham label would become a design one note. my fears aside, i adore the concepts & story that is told through this collection. understated through clean design lines, victoria & her design team hit the nail on the head this season. a wide range of looks with understated & still powerful style statements was created this season. an elegant color story was seen as red announced the collections beginning & soon yellow, orange & maroon was soothed into a base of chic earth tones. models walked the runway with head coverings which allowed the clothes to make an even more powerful statement. strong in construction & beautiful by execution, the victoria beckham collection is one that i respect, tremendously.

considered one of the most iconic female celebrities of our day, victoria beckham presents her dress collection in new york city. clean design lines, slick silhouettes & signature posh style are all elements seen in the collection this season. purple, yellow, black & white- long, short, girl & sophisticated; the collection hosts a wide range of style with classic & timeless appeal. with the addition of sunglasses & handbags, it’s clear that victoria proves her permanence as a fashion tastemaker in the world of high end fashion. loved the collection for it’s simple & indestructible approach to feminine style. superb!

fashion icon, victoria beckham appears for the august cover of turkish vogue. shot by ellen von unwerth, the black & white cover showcases posh becks clad in spiked louboutins with martini glass in hand. i love that the turkish vogue staff is consistently on-point with their cover bookings month after month. victoria appears to have her long hair back & the cover is stunning.

fashion’s night out to return next year

the official website has already set up a countdown until next years festivities & 83% of retail respondents have agreed that they are down to host ‘fashion’s night out’ events again for 2010. an outstanding turn out for fashion capitals around the globe, sales numbers reported via shoppertrak, registered an estimated 50% sales spike  in new york city from last years event. celebrities joined forces with fashion industry elite & retail locations to promote the restoration of, “consumer confidence”, while amping the industry for new york fashion week & contributing to the national september 11th memorial fund. rihanna hit an in-store event with intermix, sarah jessica parker met up with oscar de la renta & bette midler & models, musicians, actors & actresses all took part in PSA’s to promote the event- all for one amazing night. victoria beckham made an appearance at bergdorf goodman & the olsens almost didnt appear due to the pandemonium they caused by offering to serve drinks at barneys. though other fashion capitals are still in negotiation for sister events slated for next year, expected to sign on along with new york are london, paris, tokyo, milan and beijing. an exciting addition to mark on next years calender of events. many credit anna wintour for her involvement in the success seen in the fruition of the event as all five boroughs participated & retailers from every price point were represented. anna even went to queens to sign t-shirts at macys that night in support of the event. next years event is scheduled for september 9th. [SOURCE]
